The staff was friendly and the food was good. I got a half tenderloin sandwich with fries and it was definitely enough food. There were ten of us and we only waited a minute or two for a table and it was a very busy Sunday.
And kids meals include frozen custard with sprinkles. Can't beat it.
There are [admittedly] TV screens, but the volume is on mute and the shows are usually the weather channel and sports, so it's never raunchy prime-time stuff that would be unwholesome for the kids.
I bring my family (wife + four kiddos) to Smith's 2-3 times each year -- we live about 45 minutes away, but it's not a wasted trip. The appetizers are generous, the servings are generous, the servers are welcoming...the parking lot is always full. For a family of 6, (drinking waters) it usually costs about $70 for supper. We always take leftovers home with us.
A bit pricey but well worth the money! With their great decor and amazing food it's a place to take the whole family out . Although it is many busy many times a day you won't have to wait to long for your food. Or for lunch have the buffet it's fantastic!
I have eaten here a handful of times and would love to make it a weekly to biweekly dine experience. I enjoy the old country feel it has and the gift shop attached to it. It makes me feel close to home. The food has always been good and the pies...don't even get me started. They are, of course, the best part of Smith's. You can buy whole pies to take home and enjoy or by the slice. I think the next time you are itching for something sweet, you try this place on for size. The staff is friendly and prompt. The coffee is hot. The fries aren't soggy and the Philly cheese will melt your face off. Chocolate cream pie for the mf win, y'all! And while you are there, stop in to the C-store next door for some gas and snacks for the road. Ash is my main man and he always enjoys chewing the fat and giving good deals to repeat customers. Thank you, Smith's for being a good ole down home country kitchen!
What we like: Large dining area - we rarely have to wait to be seated - and even when the place is busy, it doesn't feel cramped. Menu is predictable (sandwiches, salads, burgers, steaks, barbecue), but there's plenty of selection -- and we always have trouble making a decision. Food is fresh.
Food was really good. The restaurant is very neat and clean. Staff was good nice courtesy and the even sent extra server' around because ours was flooded with us at 8 and another table with 12. I would give them a five but prices were ridiculously high. 10$ for a chef salad. Call me crazy but that is pretty darn expensive. I decided to have the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed it. It came with buffalo wing sauce, American and Swiss cheese, and a side of blue cheese on sourdough bread. If you have the money it is worth trying.
